Impact of Giving 2024-25

Celebrating 675 years and shaping our future

Marking 675 years since Trinity Hall’s foundation is a remarkable milestone. Over the 2024-25 academic year, we celebrated our history and most importantly looked confidently to the future. None of this would have been possible without the generosity of our donors.

In the 2024–25 academic year, our generous community of 1,250 donors raised an extraordinary £2.9 million to support the College and our students. Your generosity has made a profound difference across all areas of College life.

How your donation has supported Trinity Hall

Your generous donations have made the following support possible:

  • £1,135,000 towards Student Support, helping students thrive academically and personally – providing grants and studentships to postgraduates enabling them to undertake their research and grants to attend conferences, as well as providing financial assistance to undergraduates. A total of 82 students, around one in four, received support, including 41 full bursaries of £3,500 per year and 21 education premiums, and 97 postgraduates received some form of financial aid.
  • £824,361 to College Discretion – the Think Ahead Fund, enabling the College to respond to need where it matters most. Of this, £675,000 supported postgraduate students, helping them overcome financial barriers to study and research. Additional gifts have also helped to maintain and enhance our buildings, ensuring that Trinity Hall’s historic spaces continue to support teaching, learning, and community life.
  • £34,189 in support of Clubs and Societies, enriching student life beyond the classroom.
  • £29,943 for Access and Outreach, widening participation and encouraging talented students from all backgrounds by hosting residentials in College.
  • £18,563 towards Buildings and Resources, helping to maintain and enhance the College estate and undertaking energy saving initiatives to lower our carbon footprint.

Believe – Belong – Become

In July 2025, the College launched its 675th Anniversary Campaign, guided by the theme Believe – Belong – Become. We are grateful to all those who have already supported the Campaign as we work towards raising a further £25 million to shape the future of Trinity Hall.

Our sincere thanks go to the many alumni who supported the 675 Auction, whether by donating lots or placing bids. Thanks to this collective generosity, £10,605 was raised and directed towards postgraduate support, helping students to pursue advanced study and research.

Regular giving

Regular giving remains one of the most powerful and meaningful ways to support Trinity Hall. It provides a vital, sustainable source of income that gives the College financial stability and the confidence to plan for the long term—allowing us to respond thoughtfully to both immediate needs and future opportunities.

Because regular gifts are predictable and dependable, they enable the College to invest strategically in areas that have the greatest impact on student life and academic excellence. From supporting students facing financial hardship, to sustaining teaching, research, and wellbeing initiatives, regular giving underpins much of the College’s initiatives.

In the 2024-25 academic year, our community of 766 regular donors contributed over £304,000 to a wide range of College funds and projects. This collective generosity is having a profound and lasting impact on the College community.

Thanks to regular donors:

  • £193,287 was given to the College Discretion Fund- Think Ahead Fund
  • £84,173 supported undergraduate and postgraduate student support, including research travel, conferences, bursaries, and studentships
  • £8,431 helped fund Access and Outreach initiatives, including the You’ll Fit In programme and residentials in our link areas

Your generosity and loyalty continue to be truly transformational. Thank you.
