All-round Education

Providing students with opportunities to become the best versions of themselves.

We believe students learn on the river as well as in the lecture theatre; in the choir as well as the library; through friendships for life as well as study-groups. Many alumni fondly recall their time at Cambridge through sport, music, or drama.

On a practical level, such an all-round education develops transferable skills that will be of use throughout a student’s future career. Research also demonstrates the positive impact that extra-curricular activities have on students’ mental health. However, a recent University survey highlighted that 17% of our students were not taking part in physical activity because of a concern about finances.

I have felt I truly belong through getting involved in College societies. I've got friends for life now. There's nothing that has made me happier and more proud than this last week with the boat club.

The Geography Society provides a strong support network both academically and emotionally when trying to handle a Cambridge degree.

Climbing offered new kinds of mental and physical challenges. I think that problem-solving and the way that climbing teaches you to deal with fear are what attracted me to it the most.

Our Aims

  • Make facilities readily available to all our students so that no-one is prevented financially from taking part in sport, exercise, music, drama, or similar activities at any level.
  • Support a programme that help students’ transition to University and develop their leadership skills and resilience.

You can make a difference

Your gift can help our students enjoy life-changing experiences, leading to professional and personal fulfilment that has an impact in the wider world.

Together we can ensure the next generation of great thinkers, leaders, creators, entrepreneurs, problem solvers and achievers find their home at Trinity Hall.
